Deirdre Malone
Deirdre defends defamation and data breach claims alongside the core insurance defence caseload of employers’ liability, public liability, product liability, road traffic accident and fatal injury claims, acting for large multinational insurers, self-insured organisations and State entities.
Representative matters include an employers’ liability claim before Naas Circuit Court, where the court accepted that the employer had done everything reasonable to prevent injury and dismissed the claim; and a public liability claim before Dublin Circuit Court, dismissed with costs against the plaintiff and, on appeal, settled on favourable terms.
She is admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in both Ireland and England and Wales, holds a Certificate in Healthcare Law from the Law Society of Ireland, and is an accredited CEDR mediator with the Law Society’s Diploma in Mediator Training. She has experience in all courts in Ireland.
Deirdre qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and joined Nathaniel Lacy LLP in 2019.
Outside work, Deirdre enjoys music and painting, and has a lifelong interest in sport, particularly GAA, currently volunteering as a Family Liaison Officer for her local club.
